Desintigration

I just shipped this pretty lady out to California and it made me a little sad! I’ll miss her! When I put together these one of a kind everlasting flower collections (or really any of my dried flower bouquets) I spend a lot of time curating and finding materials that are interesting and speak to me. I’m often sourcing from multiple different places including items I’ve personally dried, processing (yes, even dried flowers need to be processed), painting or finding ways to manipulate the flower. I use these materials in bouquets, dried flower cloches and wreaths so I’m very strategic about what I’m using and where it goes to make sure I get the most of what I’ve found. Then sometimes magic happens.

I have had black pampas left over from a wedding last year (I save everything. It is my gift, it is my curse) and I REALLY wanted to use it in something. If you know me you know black is my favorite color and often what I’m dressed in. The trouble is sometimes it can read too Halloween or too goth but I was listening to The Cure while I worked so I just went with it . A little bit of bleached ruscus, bunny tails, fern, spray roses, sword fern, Queen Anne’s Lace and mini pampas. I finished it and instantly fell in love and hoped someone else would too! I’m looking forward to making more!
